Early Morning After Sleepover Fun

It was a overcast morning but the boys were ready for outdoor adventures with Mima, (the name our g-babies call me. They had not even gotten out of their PJ's! They grabbed the nets and we headed to the lake behind our Tennessee home. Spring is emerging and I am thrilled after spending much of my winter in a very snowy and cold Southern West Virginia.

Getting Ready To Plant

Each Spring I get excited to see what is available for the planting season. There are always the "tried and trues" and then sometimes you see something hybrid or something new. I was excited to see a new perennial Columbine that I had not seen. It was double petal and had a full appearance. Of course, I had to have some. I am in West Virginia now but I will be taking these home to Tennessee to be planted in our yard. And I found some beautiful lilies like I had planted last year. They are lovely too!

 

 

 

I took a cool stroll around the Little Beaver State Park lake. This broke my heart, a duck had gotten it's foot tangled in fishing line and I tried to get some people to help me catch it but we were not able to do anything about it.  It was too frightened of us.  And the it's foot was so swollen and damaged that it had trouble walking.  I am sure the pain was horrible.  I hope that the State park folks found him.  I could not locate anyone from the park service.  So we need to be careful with fishing line, trash and etc. for our wildlife.

 Sharing my day in pictures...my beautiful ,blue skies, butterflies and bunnies day! Beauty surrounds us all of the time. All I can say is that, I thanked God often today for such a wonderful day! And I wanted to share it with anyone that loves the outdoor and spring! I do not think that there is anyone that loves it anymore than I do!!!  I simply wish that spring blossoms lasted longer...FOREVER!

Oh how sweet, warm and precious this little baby is!



I think that I counted three little Easter bunnies all snuggled up in this cozy den/nest. 
I didn't want to disturb them too much.  I will be visiting them again to make sure they stay safe!



Soft heart!

Early Tuesday morning I was doing my usual...walking our two Golden Retrievers, Sam and Carly. Just beyond the barn I noticed our two dogs chasing a fawn. Of course, I had to reprimand them and save the baby deer! The mother came whizzing by me at a speed that seemed to exceed what was possible! If I am ever found laid out, you all will know what happened to me! The mama deer was not happy and I do not blame her! I usually encounter a baby deer each year and sometimes a few in a season. It is always a fun experience!  And this is my second such event in two weeks! I’m going to be cursing this animal next spring when it is eating at my plants What can I say?....I have a soft heart.
